The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 is seeking to develop and implement a focused Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) initiative, to support investment attraction across the region’s five priority industry sectors. The project is intended to establish a strategic and targeted approach that builds on existing regional strengths, including established supply chains, value chains, and sector capacity, in order to position the region as a competitive location for international investment.

This project will require the development of a comprehensive FDI strategy informed by global best practices and aligned with the M.D.’s broader Investment Attraction Action Plan. The strategy is expected to provide a clear framework to identify, attract, cultivate, and convert foreign investment opportunities into measurable economic development outcomes.

The scope of work should include, at minimum, sector-focused market intelligence, targeted investor outreach and lead generation, and the development of clear processes and tools to manage both inbound and outbound FDI inquiries. The strategy should also support the M.D.’s capacity to engage effectively with prospective international investors and respond to opportunities in a coordinated, timely, and informed manner.

Through this initiative, the M.D. aims to strengthen investment readiness, enhance opportunities within key sectors, and support long-term regional economic growth through a coordinated, data-driven, and investment-focused approach.
